What does it cost to sell with iSold It?

Q:
What does it cost to sell with iSold It?

A:
iSold It charges nothing to list items. After an item sells, we deduct our commission and eBay payment processing fees then send you a check for the balance, which will generally amount to 55-65% of the selling price. The buyer pays for shipping and handling.

(In contrast, traditional consignment stores usually give the seller only 40-50%.)

Our commission is 38% of the first $500 and 30% of the next $1000 and 25% remaining amount (over $1000), with a $12.99 minimum per item. eBay's listing fees are $0.60 (assumes $19.99 starting bid) plus 5.25% of the first $25, 3% of the next $975, and 1.5% of any amount over $1,000. Payment processing fees are $.30 plus 2.5% of the final selling price.

Why shouldn't I just sell it myself?

Q:
Why shouldn't I sell it myself?

A:
You could...just as you could paint your own house, or draft your own will. Most people get better quality results when an expert with the right tools, training and expertise does the work.

Many items sold through the iSold It store produce a price 30-40% higher than comparable items sold by private individuals--completely offsetting our commission and fees!

iSold It became the Number 1 Volume Seller on eBay by being the expert on online consignment sales:
  • Our trained researchers can appraise your item while you are in the store, so you know whether your item is likely to sell and at what price.
  • Our professional photographers have professional cameras, lighting, backdrops, settings and editing software to visually showcase each item to its best advantage.
  • Our expert copywriters maximize each item's exposure by discovering the best categories in which to list the item and use the key words that are most likely to match a prospective buyer's online search.
  • Our customer service representatives promptly answer questions from prospective buyers to ensure that they have the information they need to bid with confidence on items. iSold It customer service representatives also have the experience to avoid phony bidders and online scams.
  • Our shippers carefully pack and ship each item so that it arrives promptly and in good condition, minimizing returns.
  • Our national brand and high feedback rating makes buyers more likely to bid on our auctions because we are reputable, rather than auctions run by individuals. Buyers feel safe because they know what they are bidding on is exactly what the auction is portraying.

What is the length of my eBay Auction?

Q:
What is the length of my eBay auction?

A:
Typically, iSold It uses a seven day auction to maximize bidding interest. However, we can run auctions as short as one day for items with time constraints, such as tickets for sporting events, concerts, and other time-sensitive items. Or as long as 10 days for high valued items such as Rolex Watches.

Can I watch my auction while it is in progress?

Q:
Can I watch my auction while it is in progress?

A:
Yes-that's part of the fun! When iSold It launches your auction, we send you an e-mail with a link to the item so you can follow the action.

What if my item does not sell during the auction period?

Q:
What if my item does not sell during the auction period?

A:
If your item does not sell, you will be notified by e-mail to pick it up at the store within 10 days.  Items left beyond 10 days are donated to charity.

Can I set a minimum selling price for my auction?

Q:
Can I set a minimum selling price for my auction?

A:
Yes. Sellers can set an opening bid of their choosing for a fee of $30 plus 1% of the opening bid, this is referred to as a reserve auction. However, while larger opening bids provide a higher price for which an item must sell, they can limit bidding activity. Lower opening bids attract more interest from the eBay community, so that multiple bidders are competing for the item. eBay's research shows that an auction that starts at a lower opening bid will almost always sell for a higher ending value than an identical item with an opening bid near the item's final value.

When can I expect to receive my check?

Q:
When can I expect to receive my check?

A:
Typically, you will receive a check about 30-45 days from the date you dropped off your item. Please note that winning bidders who delay in paying for your item will cause delays in our timing for sending out your check. Occasionally, a winning bidder may never pay for your item; in this case, we will cancel the original auction and re-list your item. Your check amount and payment timing will be based on the results of this new auction.
