No surprise, here! TRUSTe has released the results of its analysis of the privacy practices of the largest brands in the US, and found that eBay is the most trusted company. Other web brands in the top ten include WebMD, Yahoo, and Facebook. Interestingly enough, Google didn't crack the list.
"According to the 2009 survey results, eBay is the Most Trusted Company for Privacy, proving that the e-commerce site can protect consumer privacy, all while handling massive volumes of sensitive data across the globe," says TRUSTe. Read more... |

Watch out, Paris! Fashion designer Norma Kamali, who joined eBay in April and opened a Store on the site, announced on Thursday she would launch an exclusive line for eBay called Norma Kamali-bay, according to the Boston Herald. Ms. Kamali also has a line for Wal-Mart, which she introduced 18 months ago.
This is the second fashion designer to announce an exclusive line for eBay. Narciso Rodriguez will introduce an original eight-piece capsule collection through the Narciso Rodriguez eBay Store beginning in Spring 2010. The collection will be called Narciso Rodriguez for eBay. |

From Michelle Obama’s black and red election night show stopper, to the sleek, bias cut sheath that captured the poignant beauty of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy on her wedding day, Narciso Rodriguez, one of America’s premier design talents, has risen to fame with his sleek, contemporary fashion looks that critics call “sensual, feminine and classic.”
Since 1997, Rodriguez’s signature collection was previously only available at high-end department and specialty stores including Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys and Neiman Marcus. But, for spring 2010, a new capsule collection designed by Rodriguez will be available ONLY on eBay through the designer’s own eBay store. This is his first capsule collection, and eBay is his first online sales channel.
The designer devised his new mini-eBay collection focusing on both fashion and function: “It’s a collection that has everything you need. You can wear it everywhere, and it’s an intelligent group of pieces that work independently or as an all-in-one look.”
The 8-piece Narciso Rodriguez for eBay Collection will offer fashion fiends a tremendous value with significantly lower price points than his traditional lines. “I’m as excited about my eBay collection as I am about the ones that come down the runway,” says Rodriguez. “I can see people buying something from my main collection and wearing it with pieces from the eBay collection. It’s the same design and fabric quality.”
This new collection arrives just in time for Spring 2010.

Apple’s modern computer designs are industry renowned. Sleek, beautiful machines of marvelous symmetry and breathtaking geometry, carved from whole blocks of aluminum and glistening with reflective glass.
But 33 years ago, in July 1976, the Apple computer was a very different beast. Designed by hand by Steve Wozniak, it cost $666.66. Housed in a case made of splintery wood, the fully assembled circuit board contained about 30 chips, and was sold without a case, power supply, keyboard or display. And one of the original 200 Apple I computers hand-built in Wozniak's garage between July 1976 and 1977 is soon to appear on eBay.
The current owner — a man describing himself as an “82 year old antique” is putting the 32 year old Apple I for sale on eBay sometime in the next few weeks. The seller wrote to the San Fancisco Chronicle’s tech columnist Dave Einstein about getting publicity for the sale. Einstein’s (hopefully) tongue-in-cheek reply: “I don’t think your computer is valuable enough to spark much general media interest before you sell it.”
That’s surely not true. With a value of tens of thousands of dollars, the self-described 82 year old antique probably has quite the sale on his hands, when the auction finally hits eBay. If you want the very first Apple, be on the lookout, and expect the bidding to be fierce. Source |

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you another interesting eBay find... A corn-dog scented air freshener. What does a corn-dog air freshener smell like? While on that subject, what does a corn-dog even smell like, anyway? The listing claims that the air freshener smells like mustard. Mmmm. Who would want their car to smell like that? Sounds like it would just make me hungry. My own curiousity just might push me to buy it! |
